For owners
How do I create my first door?
Sign up at /owner/signup, log in, and use the door creation flow on your dashboard. Free accounts include one active door.
How do I share my QR code?
From the doors page, open the door's QR. You can download it as a PNG/SVG and print it, or share the short URL directly. Visitors who scan the QR or visit the URL can leave a message โ no app required for them.
How do I reply to a visitor?
Open the submission from your dashboard or from the push notification. You can send a short text reply or record a brief audio reply. The visitor sees your reply at a unique link sent only to them.
How do live audio calls work?
Live audio calls are an Early Access feature on paid plans, enabled per door in that door's settings. When an eligible visitor requests a call, your registered devices ring and you can accept or decline. Calls run over the internet rather than the phone network, so both sides need a working connection and a compatible device or browser. Calls aren't offered during your quiet hours, they ring for a short time before timing out, and they have a maximum length. KNOC does not record or store live-call audio.
Can I silence notifications at night?
Yes โ the Settings page has a quiet-hours window. Knocks are still accepted during that window, but push notifications are deferred until the window ends, so a 3 a.m. scan doesn't wake you up.
How do I delete my account?
From the Settings page, type DELETE in the danger-zone confirmation, enter your password if you signed up with a password, and submit. Your account is deactivated and signed out immediately, and is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period. Deletion runs automatically after that point, but it isn't instantaneous โ it can take longer if we need to finish billing reconciliation, retry a step that failed, keep records for an abuse or security investigation, or retain something the law requires. You can't sign in while deletion is scheduled; if you change your mind during the grace period, email support@knoc.app.

What is this page I just scanned?
You scanned a KNOC code, which is a private digital doorbell. The owner of the location uses it to receive messages without giving out a phone number or installing a third-party app.
Can I talk to the owner live?
Sometimes. On doors where the owner has turned it on, you can request a live audio call over the internet โ an Early Access feature. Your browser will ask for microphone permission and you'll need to allow it. Whether calling is offered depends on the owner's settings and plan, the door you scanned, the owner's quiet hours, whether they have a device registered to ring, and your browser and network. This is not a telephone call: KNOC does not dial phone numbers and cannot reach emergency services. If calling isn't available, or nobody answers, you can leave a message instead.
What happens to my photo, audio, or message?
It goes to the owner of the door you scanned. It is not posted publicly, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI. Authorized KNOC personnel can access it when that is genuinely needed to run the service โ investigating a support request or an abuse report, for example โ and the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy process it on our behalf. See the Privacy page for the full picture.
How do I see if the owner replied?
After you submit, you'll see a unique link. Bookmark or save it โ that's the only place where the owner's reply will appear. If the owner replies by SMS and you provided a phone number, you'll also receive a text.
Still need help?
Email us at support@knoc.app. Please include the door slug (the short code at the end of the URL you scanned) and an approximate time so we can find the right record.
